A clear, side-by-side look at the pet insurance plans available in Manila — what they cover, the annual limits, the co-payment and the exclusions that matter. Pick up to three and compare them line by line.
Malayan Insurance (distributed via GCash GInsure / Igloo)
The most accessible pet cover in the Philippines — a low-cost, short-tenure 3-in-1 bundle bought entirely inside GCash, combining up to ₱100,000 medical reimbursement with owner-liability and personal-accident cover. It is a starter/liability product rather than comprehensive lifetime medical cover, and its low limits mean a serious surgery could still exceed the payout.
Annual limit
Medical reimbursement up to ₱100,000; Pet Owner's Liability up to ₱250,000; Owner Personal Accident ₱50,000 (3-in-1 bundle)
Co-pay

Indicative premium
From ₱650 for 1 month; also 3/6/9/12-month tenures. Tripzilla cites "as low as ₱266/month" for certain configurations — CONFIRM current pricing in-app
BDO Insurance (brokered by BDO Insure; also sold via Pet Express) — CONFIRM underwriting carrier
The most affordable structured pet plan in the Philippines, starting at ~₱504/year and covering both dogs and cats. The base plan is accident-focused (₱15k–₱30k per accident, up to 5 incidents), with illness cover, named chronic conditions and owner-liability available as paid add-ons at 80% reimbursement. Good value for accident protection, but limits are modest against a major medical bill. Note: BDO Insure is a licensed broker (License IB-13-2022-R), so the actual risk-bearing underwriter must be confirmed on the policy contract before publishing.
Annual limit
Accident cover ₱15,000–₱30,000 per accident (up to 5 incidents) across Plans A–D
Co-pay
Effectively 20% owner share on illness reimbursement (80% reimbursed)
Indicative premium
From ₱504/year (Pet Express) / ₱560/year (BDO Remit channel)
Extremely cheap entry (~₱504/yr)
Covers dogs and cats
Broad add-on menu incl. named chronic conditions and travel
The cheapest premium is rarely the best value. When comparing, look past the headline price at the parts that decide what you actually get back:
Annual limit — the most the plan pays per year. Higher limits matter for surgery and chronic illness.
Co-payment / co-insurance — the share of every bill you still pay. Often rises with your pet's age at enrolment.
Deductible / excess — a fixed amount deducted per claim or per year.
Exclusions — pre-existing, hereditary, dental and routine/preventive care are commonly excluded.
Waiting periods — illness cover usually starts weeks after you sign up.
Lifetime renewal — whether cover continues as your pet ages (crucial for older dogs).
Insuring a pet while young and healthy usually locks in lower co-payment and avoids pre-existing exclusions later. If your pet already has a condition, check exactly how each insurer treats it before buying.
